How can I know if my Internet connection is through a proxy server?

Proxy servers allow computers in an organization to access the Internet It is common for proxy servers to be used in companies, and this is normally for reasons of security, performance, anonymity, etc.
 

If you connect to the Internet from home, you will not normally be using a proxy server.
